Well, THERE'S a title.
The Kid Wars sequel of sorts begins with some neat text effects, including one of the most interesting crawls I've ever seen. We then see a building of some kind which I know intellectually is CG but cannot actually bring myself to believe is not real. From there we get a guy (director Hakan Andersson) cutting his clone's head off. Head rebuilding, slow motion effects and lightsaber duels against oneself ensue. in the most amazing ways.
The bar has been raised for special effects here. It really, really has. A fluid camera interacts with computer-generated images and other digital craziness in a gleefully crazy way that never looks false. This would be impressive stuff for a low-budget sci-fi film of some scope. It's a thousand times more incredible for a project being done by some dude in his garage.
I try to write my reviews as I watch the films. It's not possible in this case, because every time I try to write about the awesome effect we're seeing, a new one comes up.
Oh, and nice Shakespeare joke.
Watch this so you can feel bad about your lack of effects skills.
